Keith L. Nitcher

Keith L. Nitcher, 89, died Nov. 6. He was a comptroller from 1957 to 1968, deputy vice chancellor for finance from 1968 to 1969 and university director of business and fiscal affairs at the Lawrence and medical center campuses from 1969 to 1993. Survivors include his wife, Hazel; three sons; a daughter; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church or KU Medical Center, sent in care of Lawrence Chapel Oaks, 3821 W. Sixth St., Lawrence, KS 66049.

George Woodyard

George Woodyard, 75, died Nov. 7. He taught Spanish for 39 years and held several administrative positions, including assistant chair of the Spanish and Portuguese department from 1971 to 1974; chair of Spanish and Portuguese department from 1974 to 1978; associate dean of the graduate school from 1978 to 1989; and dean of the graduate school from 1983 to 1984. He also served as vice chancellor for academic affairs and as the first dean of international studies. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; four children; eight grandchildren, a brother and sister. The family suggests memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Woodyard Fellowship at KU or the Rotary Arboretum, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
